Dieren is a village in the municipality of Rheden, located between the IJssel river and the woods of the Veluwezoom. It has over 13,000 residents, and the railway line divides the village into two parts, each with its own character. On the north and west side, along the edge of the woods, there are many detached homes, villas and semi-detached houses on generous plots. South of the railway, towards the IJssel, you mainly find village houses, terraced homes and post-war family homes, with apartments around the centre as well. Just over half of the homes are owner-occupied. In the municipality of Rheden the average sale price in 2025 was around €450,000, but within Dieren prices vary widely depending on location and type of home. From Dieren station you reach Arnhem in about fifteen minutes, and Zutphen is a short ride in the other direction. By road, the A348 takes you quickly to Arnhem and the A12. The village has shops, supermarkets, primary schools and an active community life. For walkers and cyclists the surroundings are exceptional: the Veluwezoom National Park, Middachten castle in De Steeg and the IJssel floodplains are all close by.
