Before the viewing
Read the listing and note the points you want clarified. Think about your route to work, the rooms you need and any accessibility requirements. Look at the location as well as the property. Ask what documents are available and, if an agent is accompanying you, agree which questions each of you will cover.
Inside and around the property
Look at daylight, room layout, storage and the practical use of the outdoor space. Notice visible signs of wear or moisture and ask about them without assuming you know the cause. Listen to the surroundings and consider privacy. If you take photographs or videos, ask permission first and use them to compare the homes you visit.
After you leave
Write down what worked, what did not and which points remain unclear. Ask your agent whether further information or a specialist inspection would help. A viewing gives an impression; it does not replace a technical assessment. At OSM, you can discuss your observations and the next steps in your preferred language, subject to the support agreed with your agent.
Frequently asked questions
Is a viewing the same as a building inspection?
No. A viewing helps you assess the home and raise questions. A technical inspection is a separate specialist service.
What if I did not understand an explanation?
Ask for it again, preferably in writing if it affects your decision. Make a list of unresolved points before discussing any next step.
